The diorama shown here effectively uses a very small space to showcase the assembled remnants of a WWII Japanese "Zero." The scene depicts a crashed Zero aircraft on a South Pacific Island. Its wing 's lead edges are gouged into and pushing up sand and grasses. Loose engine cowlings and a mound of sand hide the fact that CDI didn't have the actual engine and much of the canopy..
Broken tree tops also help to show the final route of the doomed aircraft. "Tracks" in the sand indicate the pilot may have walked away from the crash.
Creative Display Installation built this diorama for the owner Kermit Weeks..
