NORMANDY DIORAMA

The Normandy diorama features a real Sherman tank actually rolled in place before the building was built around it. Omaha Beach provided access to Normandy and the rest of Europe where many of the final battles were fought.

With a background mural of a winter forest, soldiers (mannequins) trudge through simulated mud and snow as they are about to enter a village street, across from a battle-damaged German factory.

The mix of two-dimensional mural and three-dimensional diorama creates a realistic panorama that shows the difficult conditions faced by our troops - mud and snow are colored fiber reinforced concrete, hand layered up by C.D.I.
